Tips and extras for this offer
The arched stone bridge is a reminder of its wooden predecessor. On the east side of the bridge, the year 1761 is carved into the rock. A shrine dedicated to St. Nicholas used to be there with a votive offering dated 1664, which was later moved to St. Anne's Chapel in Zum Loch.
The Bedretto Valley consists of small settlements nestled on the valley floor. The many church buildings, most dating from the 16th century, are among its special attractions, particularly the churches of SS. Sebastiano e Rocco in Bedretto and S. Antonio Abate in Ronce with rococo reliquary.
The most important structure is SS. Maccabei Church in Villa with its beautiful frescoes. The building has an octagonal ground plan and is visible from far away. It replaced the church of 1594 after it had been destroyed by an avalanche. The current tower also acts as avalanche protection.
