Sörenberg Route
Schüpfheim–Flühli–Sörenberg–(Giswil)
A panoramic journey on the Sörenberg Route takes you over the Glaubenbielen Pass, through the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere of Schüpfheim to Giswil. A beautiful scenic journey off the beaten track and far from mass tourism.
The Sörenberg Route from Schüpfheim takes you on a scenic journey through the UNESCO Entlebuch Biosphere to Giswil. Amid the extraordinary Entelbuch landscapes, you can partake in guided hikes through the rugged Schrattenfluh, observe game in the Brienzer Rothorn area or enjoy what could be described as herbal hike; with a wealth of information on medicinal herbs and sayings. (PostBus stop Schüpfheim, Bahnhof – Sörenberg, Rothornbahn). A host of cultural information is also at your finger tips in the Entlebuch museum of local history in Schüpfheim (PostBus stop Schüpfheim, Bahnhof). In Flühli you discover what is described as one of Switzerland’s best Kneipp plants, along with the story of glassworks (PostBus stop Flühli, Post).
And of course Sörenberg awaits guests and families with one of the largest winter sports areas in canton Lucerne, with sled runs and ski-pistes extending as far Rothurn. (PostBus stop Sörenberg, Rothornbahn). Rothurn also represents the departure point for numerous mountain bike tours and hikes, for example to the Schrattenfluh. Salwideli is another name to remember; where you witness the beautiful moorlands and can take a break to replenish resources at the Salwideli guest house. (PostBus stop Sörenberg, Südelhöchi). An additional highlight in Sörenberg is the high-ropes park (PostBus stop Sörenberg,Post) along with summer sled run (PostBus stop Sörenberg, Skilift Rischli).
The Glaubenbielen Pass naturally presents beautiful panoramic view over the area; and Giswil is your stop for excursions in the surrounding mountains (PostBus stop Giswil, Bahnhof) – as well as ski and hiking adventure in the Mörlialp area (PostBus stop Giswil, Mörlialp).
